Administering QDROs submitted to your Defined Benefit or Defined Contribution Plan can be a costly and time consuming endeavor.  ABE offers an affordable alternative to administering QDROs in-house.  Our services typically include:

• Responding to inquiries.
• Corresponding with interested parties upon the receipt of an Order.
• Reviewing the Order and informing the interested parties if the Order is accepted as a QDRO or rejected, and if rejected what corrections need to be made.  In either case, we indicate our interpretation of the benefits assigned.
• Informing the participant and alternate payee of their right to appeal our interpretation of the Order and provide for their right to waive their right to appeal to help expedite the processing of the Order.
• Preparing summary sheets to assist the record keeper or plan actuary to determine the payment options available to the alternate payee.
